Things are changing…

In 1 Chronicles 4:10, Jabez prays, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory!” At the Youth Impact Centre, God has done exactly that. This summer, we’re excited to announce the early phases of expansion to both our facility and a whole new Biblical Counselling service.

The need for a Biblical Counselling service in our community is great. Over the past year, we have seen an increase in students coming to us without direction, without hope and lost on where to start; they are hurting in every way. Our staff and volunteers have been working hard to meet these students where they are at and point them to Christ, and it is working. The word is spreading. Hope and help can be found at the Dunnville Youth Impact Centre. This means that more students are coming to us, and it is time to grow.

The first way we plan to grow is by adding a Biblical Counselling service. Currently, we refer students and their families who need counselling to Insight, located in Welland. The costs associated with travel and fees create a barrier to accessing their service. So the Board has approved a shift in focus for Erica. Over the next year, she will be taking steps to become certified as a Biblical Counsellor to offer that critical service right here through the Youth Impact Centre.

The second way we plan to grow is by renovating our second floor. These renovations will create distraction-free spaces for tutoring, a dedicated counselling office, showers for our students to use, and offices for our staff. We remain committed to helping young people holistically. These renovations will allow us to better serve their academic, emotional, spiritual and physical needs
